140 William Street
Invigorating the Streetscape of an Office Tower to Create an Engaging Destination in the City
The design transforms the ground plane at 140 William, creating a desirable destination and a unique pedestrian-friendly environment. Strong visual markers form gateways to the entry points, linking important public spaces together in a precinct destined to become ‘the place’ in the city. A careful and highly articulated mix providing activation inhabiting pathways and open courts in an animated fashion within an architectural expression that both compliments the existing architecture and defines a unique and bespoke character for pedestrians.
140 William features a series of passages providing a distinct character not found anywhere else in the central business district of Perth and connects Murray Street Mall to William and Wellington Streets. The re-positioning of the ground plane includes the re-planning of the public spaces, inclusion of art, new landscaping to the north, addition of signage and wayfinding for the new branding and a new retail mix focusing on food.
