HDR’s Kathryn Roos Talks About the Power of Public-Private Partnerships With P3 Bulletin
Kathryn Roos, a principal strategic consultant in our Washington, D.C. office, spoke recently with P3 Bulletin about how she became involved in public-private partnerships and why she’s excited by the opportunities that P3s provide. She told the outlet about her time in the D.C. Office of Public-Private Partnerships, where she led the D.C. Smart Street Lighting Project, the district’s first P3 project.
At HDR, Roos continues that focus by advising transportation and government clients on navigating organizational challenges to deliver major infrastructure initiatives. She applies her experience with complex programmatic efforts to help municipal, regional and private transportation clients develop and implement sophisticated project solutions that advance their agencies’ vision and achieve performance goals.
“I have always enjoyed developing and delivering complex projects, many of which fall into the category of ‘first of its kind,’” Roos said. She pointed to the power of P3s to transform infrastructure.
HDR has been a leader of projects delivered via P3s across North America, from the LAX Automated People Mover to the South Mountain Freeway in Arizona to the I-95/395/495 Express Lane systems in Northern Virginia.
The "From Pioneers to Thought Leaders" article, which discusses the leadership of Roos and others in the P3 industry, is available for P3 Bulletin subscribers.
