University of Sydney Life, Earth & Environmental Sciences
Located on an important site that defines a new campus gateway for the University of Sydney, the Life, Earth & Environmental Sciences Building (LEES 1) is a clear demonstration of the university’s commitment to scientific research and teaching.
The new facility combines teaching, research and faculty accommodation from other sites across the campus, providing a home for the new School of Life and Environmental Sciences. The project will be split into teaching laboratories and research spaces.
The design is a carefully articulated response to the complicated site, which preserves important mature figs on one boundary, and anticipates future integration with the existing Carslaw Building to the North.
