Enhanced Learning and Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Home to the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Medicine, the Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education serves as a gateway to the university’s academic campus. It aims to enhance interprofessional education and collaboration between the College of Medicine and the College of Allied Health Professions, while improving classroom and learning lab utilization.

Providing Variety in Formal and Informal Learning Spaces
Located at the crossroads of student movement between key education buildings, the Sorrell Center brings together essential classrooms, hands-on learning labs, student support services and faculty offices in one location. The building is designed with the student experience in mind, offering a variety of informal spaces for student use. It is zoned for both active gatherings and quiet, focused study — supporting noisy lunch breaks in the multi-story public spaces and heads-down study in smaller group study rooms and quiet corners. Student lounges, study areas and student-oriented amenities are located on each level, strategically adjacent to entrances and building circulation.
