Anschutz Centers for Advanced Medicine
The Making of a World-Class Medical Campus
The University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) is always among the first in the U.S. to bring advanced medicine to the bedside. UCH successfully practices a balance of fast-paced, evidence-based medicine and sensitive care, all delivered with excellence, consistent with their mission to advance healthcare for patients and their families through healing, discovery and education.
In order to better serve the community’s ever-growing healthcare needs, UCH relocated its campus at the decommissioned Fitzsimons Army Medical Center (now known as the Anschutz Medical Campus). UCH’s team of specialists and sub-specialists provide unique care for patients with complex healthcare needs. The hospital’s physicians are all affiliated with the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
A 647-bed acute care facility, UCH is comprised of a series of integrated clinical pavilions:
- Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion I (AIP-I)
- Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion II (AIP-II)
- Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion Critical Care Wing (CCW)
- Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion (AOP)
- Anschutz Cancer Pavilion (ACP)
- Rocky Mountain Lion’s Eye Institute (RMLEI)
Additional facilities include Center for Dependency, Addiction and Rehabilitation (CeDAR); Leprino Office Building (LOB) and Marion Downs Hearing Institute (MDHI). The program includes inpatient and outpatient surgical services; advanced diagnostic imaging; emergency; critical care, LDR’s, medical/surgery and rehabilitation units. Patients, families and staff are provided space for both solitary and social activities. Healing amenities, (gardens, fountains and fireplaces) connect patients, families and staff with the relaxing, healing and meditative aspects of nature.
We provided campus master planning, programming, program validation, architecture, engineering and construction administration services for the AIP-I, AIP-II, CCW, AOP, ACP expansion and MDHI.
