Scheer has dedicated his more than 25-year career to shaping environments that serve and elevate communities. As education and science principal in our Seattle studio, he specializes in designing transformative spaces for higher education, science and civic projects, with a strong emphasis on sustainability.

He is committed to making a meaningful impact alongside a global community of architects, engineers and industry professionals. Scheer thrives on complexity, seamlessly navigating between high-level strategy and precise technical detail. His superpower is deep listening — translating client aspirations into bold, visionary and innovative facilities that inspire and endure.

His professional background is as diverse as it is impressive. He has collaborated with leading architectural firms across the U.S., from boutique studios to global firms. His portfolio includes notable projects such as the University of Washington Husky Union Building Renovation, Washington State University’s Troy Hall Renovation and the Sound Transit Eastlink South Bellevue Station and Garage. His work has received recognition from distinguished organizations such as the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA).

Scheer is a thought leader and active contributor to the industry, belonging to several professional associations, including the AIA, DBIA, NASPA Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education and the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP). He is passionate about fostering connections and engaging with diverse talent, driving positive change through innovative design and community-focused solutions.
