Ronald McPherson, P.E.
Coastal Lead, Northwest, U.S.
Challenges such as massive waves, 35-foot tide swings and seasonal ice drive Ronny’s passion for coastal engineering. He started in our Corpus Christi office before moving north to lead business development in our Anchorage office.
He now splits his time between business development, project management and production engineering. Ronny employs recent breakthroughs in advanced 2D and 3D coastal numerical models. His work in passing vessel analysis and wave transmission through complex breakwater geometries exemplifies our technology aptitude in coastal engineering methodology.
Ronny’s projects have included harbor design and improvements, erosion protection, and marine facility design and planning. Ronny is an active member of the Alaska Association of Harbormasters and Port Administrators, American Shore and Beach Preservation Association, Coasts, Oceans, Ports, and Rivers Institute, and American Society of Civil Engineers.
In 2011, Ronny received the Young Professional of the Year international award from the Armourstone Users Group in London, U.K.
