Principal Landscape Architect
Robby leads our landscape architecture practice in Atlanta. He works with various talented teams of engineers and landscape architects to resolve complex engineering issues and create award-winning park spaces. With more than 20 years of experience, he focuses on developing beautiful public spaces that incorporate principles of sustainability.
Robby believes that our landscape architecture practice achieves creative, unparalleled design solutions by involving its many industry-leading engineers, achieving balance and multifaceted benefits. As project manager for the Atlanta Belt Line’s immensely successful and award-winning Historic Fourth Ward Park, Robby led his team through the creative approach of blending functional design considerations with artistic components throughout the site.
Since joining HDR in 2003, his team’s projects have received dozens of design awards including a National Award of Excellence from American Council of Engineering Companies, eight chapter awards from American Society of Landscape Architects, and recognition from the Landscape Architecture Foundation for exemplary landscape performance. In the past five years, Robby has presented his design approach at more than 20 industry conferences and site tours, including the American Planning Association’s National Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana; Alberta’s Low Impact Development Partnership in Calgary, Canada and StormCon in Bellevue, Washington.
Robby received his bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from Mississippi State University and is licensed in Georgia, Missouri, Kentucky and West Virginia.
