Keith J. Bucklew
Freight Planning Lead
As our freight planning practice leader, Keith directs the development of multimodal freight solutions that support the efficient, reliable, safe and secure movement of goods and commodities. Over the past eight years he has led the development of over 30 freight mobility plans for states and metropolitan planning organizations, five state truck parking plans, and four state rail plans.
Previously Bucklew was the director of freight mobility for the Indiana Department of Transportation and was the project manager for the I-70 Dedicated Truck Lanes project across its four-state coalition. Prior to INDOT, Bucklew worked over 22 years in senior level positions within the private sector trucking industry and supply chain management. He also served in the U.S. Army, active and reserves, retiring as a colonel.
Keith is active in the industry, serving on three freight transportation committees with the Transportation Research Board and on the National Cooperative Freight Research Program Oversight Committee. And he shares his knowledge as an adjunct professor of transportation, logistics and supply chain management for Ivy Tech Community College, in Indianapolis. He has authored numerous articles on freight mobility in publications including the Transportation Journal, Planning magazine and TR News.
