Associate Principal Planner

Greg is an accomplished planner, bringing nearly 15 years of diverse experience in laboratory planning and design to his work. With a background in mechanical engineering and extensive hands-on experience in academic laboratory settings, including serving as assistant director of University Research Space Planning at Arizona State University, Greg is uniquely positioned to deliver innovative and effective solutions for complex research environments.

As associate principal planner, Greg operates at the intersection of science, design and strategy, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, from graduate students to principal investigators, to best understand their needs and translate them into effective planning solutions. Working closely with architects and engineers to create safe and efficient research spaces that support the precise environments necessary for modern research, Greg applies a strategic approach focused on enhancing efficiency in research facilities while maintaining open communication with clients. His experience, curiosity and empathy propel his investment in the success of each project and fuel his passion to contribute to a larger effort. 

Greg's breadth of experience provides him with a comprehensive understanding of lab projects from multiple perspectives. Some significant project achievements include his work on the University of Chicago’s New Engineering and Science Building and spearheading a working group of space planners, administrators and architects from leading research universities to discuss, analyze and develop a guide to best practices in research space utilization.

Passionate about contributing to the scientific community, Greg is an International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories board member and a frequent presenter at the Society for College and University Planning, Tradeline and other leading research conferences.
