As a campus planning principal based in our Boston architecture studio, Başak leads long-term, comprehensive planning for institutional clients and supports architectural projects worldwide from a district and campus planning perspective.
A sought-after facilitator of inclusive planning processes, Başak has helped prestigious higher education institutions and academic medical centers across the U.S. translate their strategic visions into physical plans, projects and toolkits for building healthier and more sustainable campuses. She views engagement as vital to understanding diverse experiences, cultures and perspectives that are key to healthy placemaking and placekeeping outcomes.
Başak's expertise in designing healthy and resilient campuses and districts has earned her awards from esteemed organizations such as the Society for College and University Planning and the American Planning Association, as well as regional chapters of the American Institute of Architects and the American Society of Landscape Architects. Her contributions are further amplified through extensive writing and speaking engagements, including keynote panels at the International Conference on Urban Health and the Healthcare Facilities Symposium and Expo, among numerous conferences.
