Willingdon Park Phases 8 & 9
Willingdon Park Phases 8 & 9
Modern Office Environment for Today’s Changing Business World
Phases 8 and 9 of the Willingdon Park office complex are the culmination of 25 years of design and development of one of Metro Vancouver’s most significant and sustainable business campuses. The twin LEED certified Gold buildings increase the total area of leading technology-oriented office space at Willingdon Park to nearly one million square feet. The buildings include many amenities for an active business community such as service retail, cafés, meeting and conference facilities, as well as multiple fitness centers with lockers, showers and secure bicycle storage. Circling the park is the Willingdon Mile, a soft-surface jogging trail that winds through the natural surrounding landscape and borders Still Creek.
Key design features of the building include:
- The buildings are designed with a mirrored sentry-like entry framing a central landscaped courtyard flanked by food and service retail.
- Exterior lighting is achieved with total internal reflectance light spires that rise 30 feet above the adjacent courtyard.
- Shorter spires highlight the massive arches around each building entrance.
- With vaulted two-story wood and glass lobbies, the interior includes 75 percent of spaces having access to daylight and over 90 percent with a view to the outdoors.
- Constructed from cast-in-place concrete and clad in tinted clear glass and composite aluminum paneling, the buildings feature rooftop solar DHW heating, high efficiency lighting and glazing, energy star roofing, drought resistant planting and a range of other sustainable building components, including an extensive stormwater management system.
