Industry Veterans to Bolster HDR’s Justice Design Practice
Two highly experienced leaders in justice design, Bob Glass and Larry Hlavacek, have joined HDR, significantly enhancing HDR's ability to deliver innovative and impactful solutions to HDR's justice clients worldwide.
Glass joins HDR as director of planning based in the Tampa architecture studio. With a career spanning over four decades, Glass is a globally recognized licensed architect known for his strategic planning skills and passion for developing client solutions across all justice system sectors. His ability to translate operational desires into comprehensive plans is proven by his successful management of over 600 technical studies for justice clients across 35 states and four countries. Before joining HDR, Glass provided specialized consulting services to the criminal justice community as part of his firm, Robert Glass and Associates, Inc., founded in 1986 and acquired by CGL Companies in 2012.
“I am honored that Bob, a highly respected leader in the justice design industry for 40 years and counting, has joined HDR,” said Gerry Guerrero, civic global director, HDR. “His expertise will enable us to expand our services and further demonstrate HDR as a leading firm in justice design.”
As director of public safety facilities, Larry Hlavacek is a licensed architect with 30 years of experience delivering designs that connect citizens to critical public services. Before joining HDR, Hlavacek served as the national director of public safety architecture for Dewberry Architects, where he engaged in public safety projects ranging in size from $6 million to $250 million in construction costs. Based in HDR's Chicago architecture studio, Hlavacek’s role involves solving HDR's clients’ public safety facility challenges and growing their public safety design practice.
“Larry bridges the gap in our public safety design portfolio,” reflects Guerrero. “Not only is he considered one of the country’s top subject matter experts in public safety, but he brings the added career experience in successfully building public safety programs to our team.”
