HDR's Keith Ferguson Receives 2023 ASDSO National Award of Merit

Keith Ferguson, P.E., has been selected as the recipient of the 2023 Association of State Dam Safety Officials National Award of Merit.

Based in HDR's Denver office, Ferguson is their former dam practice lead and currently serves as a senior technical advisor. He is a recognized leader in the dams and levees industry with more than four decades of experience in dam engineering.

With this award, Ferguson is honored for his significant contributions to the dam safety industry, both as an expert and an educator. In a congratulatory letter from the ASDSO Board of Directors, the group noted his unmatched dedication to serving communities through dam engineering and rehabilitation and always willing to give back to ASDSO at-large. He will receive the National Award of Merit at the ASDSO Dam Safety conference September 17-21 in Palm Springs, California.

“Keith is an industry leader who has worked tirelessly to advance the state-of-practice in dam design and dam safety,” said HDR’s Kevin Snyder, dam practice lead. “He is also a passionate mentor who has provided many years of excellent guidance to our staff on a number of complex projects.”

Ferguson has been involved in the dams and levees community throughout his career. He has served on numerous committees with professional organizations across the U.S. and internationally. Currently, he serves as a member of the ASDSO Dam Failures and Incidents Committee, as well as the United States Society on Dams Foundation, Concrete Dam and Earthquake Committee.
