"I engage in a process that's less about trend identification and more about responding to each community's specific needs," replied Kaia Nesbitt when asked about the latest trends in park design in an interview with Recreation Management. Nesbitt shared observations from her experience working with communities nationwide, consistent with her peers' experience in recreation design. 

Today's communities need parks that help to:

  • Alleviate social disconnection
  • Do more with less
