Designing and Applying Air-to-Water Heat Pumps

Air to water heat pumps on a factory floor.

Various heating technologies that do not rely on fossil fuels are helping the industry our race to net zero. Air–to–water heat pumps are growing in popularity. Air–to–water heat pumps offer a straightforward solution for heating, electrification and facility decarbonization; however, selection and application requires expertise to specific and unique criteria.

HDR's Mark Ridenour, mechanical engineering principal, has recently authored an article exploring the various applications and uses of air–to–water heat pumps. This is a valuable resource for understanding the necessary project requirements, evaluating systems and learning about hydronic application.
