Samantha is a creative, goal-oriented urban design professional with over 20 years of hands-on experience in all realms of urban design.
As senior urban designer, Samantha leads design and planning projects at various scales for public and private sector clients around the globe. Her work is focused on incorporating urban design concepts such as low-carbon and sustainable communities, transit-oriented development, and mixed-use communities to combat climate change and promote resiliency in the built environment.
Understanding that all design decisions leave a lasting mark on the environment and society motivates Samantha to strive for outcomes that balance the client’s programmatic requests; integrate with the community, context, and environment; and enhance sustainability at all levels.
A respected thought leader, Samantha is regularly invited to give talks and lectures on urban design at prestigious institutions, including the Congress for the New Urbanism, the University of California (Berkeley), and Silpakorn University (Bangkok). She is a guest lecturer at the Indian Institute of Management, teaching graduate management students urban design thinking and the concepts of low-carbon cities. In addition, Samantha partners with like-minded industry leaders to co-author publications that advance the profession, including the 2018 publication, “Emerald Cities: Planning for Smart and Green China.”
