New Dunedin Hospital
New Dunedin Hospital
HDR is collaborating with Warren & Mahoney and local architects McCoy Wixon to design and deliver the NZ$1-billion New Dunedin Hospital — the largest health-related building project in New Zealand's history.
The new facility will support a modern healthcare system capable of addressing the needs of the Southern region for the next 40-50 years. It will be delivered in two stages:
- Outpatient Building (planned to open in January 2025): This will include ambulatory services, clinic rooms, day procedures and non-urgent radiology.
- Inpatient Building (planned to open in April 2028): This includes an emergency department, operating theaters and other services including a dedicated primary birthing unit.
