Nathalie Beauvais, Int’l. Assoc. AIA, APA, LEED AP
Resiliency Lead, Architecture & Planning
Nathalie is dedicated to engaging stakeholders to promote resilient design in all of her projects. She collaborates with our experts to provide complete solutions address infrastructure, urban environment, natural ecosystems and human wellness issues, using resiliency to climate change as a transformative event for improving the built environment and operation processes.
She has actively contributed to the 2023 and 2024 Urban Land Institute Americas Awards for Excellence Jury and has been teaching courses on resiliency and sustainability at Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Northeastern University, and Wentworth Institute of Technology since 2011. At HDR, she works both nationally and internationally, focusing on climate change vulnerability assessments and developing resiliency strategies for buildings, infrastructure projects and larger portfolios. Her recent projects include developing climate resiliency strategies for the U.S. Department of Defense, conducting Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessments for transit lines across several states, and creating a climate resiliency plan for SEPTA.
Additionally, she assesses climate resilience for science buildings, labs and hospitals throughout the U.S. and Canada, collaborating with design teams to integrate resiliency and climate adaptation strategies into the design process. She is particularly interested in translating the science of climate change into practical, built solutions, addressing the challenge of converting climate change uncertainties into actionable design criteria for both existing and future developments.
