Kevin Snyder
Dam Safety and Geotechnical Engineer
Based in our Denver office, Kevin oversees strategic planning and all aspects of our dam practice. As a leader of the highly ranked national practice, he coordinates inter-related disciplines such as hydrology, hydraulics, structural, geotechnical, civil, mechanical and other resources needed to complete projects in the program.
Kevin is a respected dam safety and geotechnical engineer. He has partnered with clients on more than 50 dam safety inspections and served as an independent consultant on several FERC-regulated projects for clients including Sacramento Municipal Utility District and the California Department of Water Resources. In his 20 years at HDR, Kevin has held various roles, most recently serving as the West region hydropower practice lead.
Kevin is an active member of the National Hydropower Association, representing us on the NHA CEO Council. He’s also a member of the United States Society on Dams and he regularly participates in local, regional and national meetings related to dam safety. Throughout his career, he has served in various roles including lead engineer, program and project manager on large dam remediation projects, and has served as the independent consultant in the inspection of rockfill, earthfill, gravity concrete, and arch dam.
