Facility Condition Assessments

Our planning teams conducted facility condition assessments (FCA) at 36 U.S. Marine Corps Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) Training Centers, consisting of 4.8M SF in 180 buildings with associated pavements and other linear assets. Facility system condition information was collected; repair project requirements, cost estimates, and DD1391s developed; and a long-range maintenance plan data migrated to the enterprise management system, FM:Interact, for project planning. Facilities and systems assessed included hangars, warehouses, administrative and operations buildings, vehicle maintenance shops, pavements, and all associated utilities. Locations included reserve sites on Department of Defense installations and stand-alone reserve installations. Supporting surveys were included to assist in preparations for MARFORRES’ Financial Improvement Audit Readiness audit and establishing requirements to support design of new reserve facilities or renovation projects.

FCAs were conducted using BUILDER™ Sustainment Management System (SMS). The BUILDER™ output was used to develop repair or replacement project requirements for each site with large-ticket items such as roofs, pavements, HVAC systems, electrical and boilers with a timetable for required replacement intervals, initial scope and cost estimates.
