James McConnell, AIA, OAA

Leveraging his 30-plus years of professional experience, Jim helps set the vision and develop strategies to drive continued growth and positioning of our architecture practice, including more direct alignment with the firm's engineering groups. He works with market sector and client development directors to develop and implement new initiatives and programs to expand quality architectural services and global geographies. What drives Jim more than anything is developing unique solutions for our clients' complex problems — ultimately producing remarkable public spaces, buildings, and experiences that are safe, sustainable, and meet our clients' visions.

Among Jim's responsibilities are monitoring overall business performance and collaborating with regional directors on achieving annual plan goals and profitable growth. He is currently focused on developing Architecture initiatives and geographic expansion that aligns with the firm's Transportation business, including strategic investments and pursuits, to ensure that we meet all clients' architecture needs across our firm.

Jim's background includes leading business performance and program development for our civic market sector, including a commitment to design excellence, regenerative and net-zero building design, and team and staff development. He also has an extensive portfolio of work in the planning, design, and construction of multiple building and project types in the transit, aviation, historic preservation and restoration, private development and transit-oriented development, housing, civic, healthcare, and education fields.
