Post COVID–19 pandemic healthcare facilities are being designed for greater energy efficiency, with an emphasis on flexibility. The integration of smart technologies can enhance patient care and operational efficiency. Increasing demands for resiliency in healthcare facilities are influencing design, such the relocation of power systems above floodplains, alongside incorporating robust and flexible emergency power plants or microgrids with cogeneration capabilities.
