Katie Caskey, AICP

As director of our transportation strategic communications practice, Katie leads our nearly 200 strategic communications professionals dedicated to transportation clients. Working with strategic communications leadership across HDR, she helps drive innovation and expand the technical capabilities of our teams to offer industry leading service to clients across transportation markets. 

Her interest in strategic communications stems from a core belief that the people impacted by infrastructure policies, plans and projects should have a voice in shaping them, and a recognition that this hasn’t always been the case and needs to change.

Katie has a wealth of industry experience leading stakeholder engagement throughout the planning and implementation of long-range transportation plans, major road safety plans and programs, statewide and regional transportation policy development, and design and construction for highway and transit corridors.

She’s passionate about our culture of innovation and the desire by so many of her colleagues to always seek ways to work better in support of connecting people to the projects and services that move communities forward.

Katie is a three-time recipient of the Communicating Concepts with the Public Award from the Transportation Research Board for her work, honoring professionals who excel at communicating critical transportation topics to non-technical audiences.
