HDR Acquires City Point Partners
HDR is deepening its construction services and related expertise by acquiring Boston-based City Point Partners. Going forward, the firm will do business as HDR | City Point Partners.
The two firms have worked together on projects for several years. Most notably, they have collaborated on many Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority projects. The acquired firm is a program management company specializing in project controls, public outreach, construction services and owner’s project management. Its team also has years of experience in higher education and municipal markets and was recognized as one of Boston Business Journal’s Best Places to Work.
The strategic partnership complements HDR’s collaborative full life cycle approach. “City Point Partners brings a wealth of expertise that will enhance HDR’s core services,” said HDR Chairman and CEO Eric Keen. “Together, we will provide our clients with a team that will improve infrastructure development in the New England region.”
Colleen Moore, president and founder of City Point Partners, will join HDR as a vice president. She also serves as president of the Massachusetts chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies. “I am excited about this terrific opportunity for our staff and for the greater capacity we can now offer our clients,” Moore said. “The collective technical expertise of both firms will yield greater solutions, as we enhance the communities around us.”
This acquisition marks the sixth by HDR in the past five years. The company is the fifth largest 100% employee-owned firm in the U.S. by employee count.
