HCD Rising Star Brian Schaller Discusses Design Approach, Industry Challenges and More

After being named a Healthcare Design Magazine Rising Star in September, HDR senior project designer Brian Schaller spoke with the publication about his design background, professional philosophy and industry challenges. 

HCD grants the Rising Star awards to individuals involved in healthcare design for fewer than ten years. Based in Los Angeles, Schaller has made significant contributions to both the industry and HDR through his work on Cedars Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital, Sharp Memorial Hospital, Primary Children’s Wasatch Canyon Behavioral Health Hospital and many others.

In 2022, Schaller and several colleagues competed on stage at the 2022 Healthcare Design Conference + Expo Breaking Through competition where their concept, Bionica, took first place. Schaller will accept the award at the 2023 Healthcare Design Conference + Expo in November in New Orleans.
