HDR’s Anthony Klaumann Honored in Railway Track and Structures’ 2023 “10 Under 40” Class

Nebraska/Iowa Freight Rail Track Section Manager Anthony Klaumann, P.E., has been honored as one of Railway Track and Structures’ “10 under 40” for 2023.

Klaumann was recognized for his contributions to the rail industry, including working with industry organizations, as well as community service and leadership.

Since he came to HDR in 2013, Klaumann has risen as a leader in the company and the industry. In addition to his work leading one of the company’s largest freight rail track sections, Klaumann is also active with Transportation Research Board’s Standing Committee on Freight Rail Transportation (AR040) currently serving as the committee communications coordinator. He also works to advance the industry on the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association's Committee 16 (Economics of Railway Engineering and Operation) and its Conference Operating Committee. And he has contributed to several rail industry publications.

“Anthony’s ‘lead-by-example’ attitude and being in the trenches with his employees and clients, combined with his ability to listen and find harmony in all situations, allows him to create order out of chaos and build trust with people,” wrote Senior Freight Rail Project Manager Buzz Berger in the award nomination. “This motivates others working alongside him. Anthony’s management, interpersonal, and leadership skills continue to position him to lead design for both major capacity projects, major greenfield railway projects, as well as provide strategic consulting for several clients.”
