Bolstering the firm’s design capabilities in Kansas City, the architecture studio brings HDR’s global expertise in health, science, education and research facility design and planning to the region, with new architecture leadership bringing decades of collective local and regional experience and specializations in healthcare and pediatric design.

"Design excellence, technical expertise and a commitment to building healthy communities define HDR's culture," said HDR's North Central Operations Manager Joseph Drimmel. "With Kansas City's current emphasis on health equity and sustainable development, HDR's newest architecture studio is well-positioned to work alongside local and regional institutions to design the children's hospitals, academic health centers and community-centric facilities for the future."

Known for designing healing environments throughout Kansas City and the surrounding region, Jacqueline Foy, Erin Fogarty and Niyanta Gopal have designed facilities for Children’s Mercy Hospital Kansas City, Cox Health, Liberty Hospital and Children’s Hospital Colorado. Joining HDR’s local Kansas City office, established in 1994 and recognized for providing design and engineering services on award-winning projects such as the Kansas City Streetcar, the new architecture team is poised to deliver academic medical and community health facilities of all scales.
