David Paul Bearden, Jr.

With a career spanning more than 20 years, Paul is an expert in the design, project management and construction of oil, gas, water and utility pipelines using trenchless technologies, specifically horizontal directional drilling.  

Known for tackling tough HDD projects with difficult subsurface conditions, offshore construction or complicated HDD obstacles, Paul doesn’t shy away from a challenge. He has special expertise in installing complex, large-diameter HDD pipeline crossings with world record lengths, plus extensive on-site work with major projects around the world. He’s helped bring many “industry firsts” to fruition, including HDD crossings through the permafrost on the North Slope of Alaska and installing the first HDD crossing through a mountain with the rig inverted at a two-degree incline, uphill with no curves.

A member of the North American Society for Trenchless Technology and Pipeliners Association of Houston, Paul shares his expertise with trenchless and pipeline industry peers through technical presentations and papers.
