Wyong Hospital Redevelopment
Wyong Hospital Redevelopment
The $200 million Wyong Hospital Redevelopment is a high-priority project that delivers much-needed expansion to the acute services at Wyong Hospital, enabling the Central Coast Local Health District to meet the health demands of a growing population. Located by Skyhawk Reserve on the Central Coast of New South Wales, the new hospital building embraces biophilic design principles by maximising the leafy outlook.
Providing architectural design, interior design and specialist health planning, the Sydney-based team delivered maximum clinical scope within a limited project budget by facilitating operational efficiencies and minimising recurrent costs. The new six-level building, with capacity for future levels to accommodate growth, provides a new emergency department, intensive care unit, additional treatment space, a new medical imaging department, and a medical assessment unit. The new facility is linked to the existing hospital by an enclosed footbridge.
The outcome is a hospital that improves the local community's access to health services and attracts staff.
