HDR was commissioned by Transurban Queensland to undertake technical advisory services on behalf of the principal for a 15km long section of the Gateway Motorway between Nudgee and Deagon in north-east Brisbane.

Our commission commenced in November 2014 for the interactive tender phase, which will extend throughout the design and construction phases to completion in 2018. HDR has provided a range of advice, including:

• Responding to contractors’ questions working closely with the Department of Transport and Main Roads Engineering and Technology group
• Providing inputs to resumption planning
• Undertaking supplementary design, such as shared path alignments and intersection configurations
• Developing an offsets strategy and managing the environmental approvals process
• Managing a geotechnical testing program
• Stakeholder liaison
• Providing inputs to the Statement of Works and Technical Criteria and tender evaluation

HDR has leads for all major disciplines including civil engineering and design, structural engineering, drainage engineering, pavement engineering, and constructability. HDR managed over 200 tasks between December 2014 and March 2015, with multiple interactions and tight timeframes to meet the overall project program.
