Ben McKinsey
Utility Risk Assessment Lead
Ben leads our utility risk assessment program, focused on helping utilities proactively create a natural hazard event strategy that’s built upon the results of a comprehensive transmission system risk review. He strives to provide value by arming utilities with a decision support mechanism to achieve financial and operational success.
The role is built around an ability to effectively listen and strategise with clients — a natural fit for Ben, whose sense of achievement is tied to his ability to ensure client needs are heard and effectively addressed.
Ben’s strong understanding of transmission systems helps guide the approaches he develops with clients. He’s managed projects ranging from 25kV to 345kV across the country.
Ben has presented for organisations including the Energy, Utility & Environment Conference, Northwest Public Power Association and the Rocky Mountain Electric League.
