Gabriel Kopp
Fisheries Lead
Gabriel is our fisheries lead for the Western United States. He represents technical leadership, project pursuits and overall management of our fisheries program that includes biology, regulatory, ecohydraulics (fish passage) and enhancement (hatcheries).
Gabriel loves finding modern fisheries solutions in our complex world. From facilitating fisheries passage design processes on large flood projects to providing strategic insight on California’s complicated regulatory landscape, the harder the puzzle — the better the task.
He takes the most pleasure in successfully fulfilling the role of fisheries lead during the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission relicensing efforts like the recently completed Yuba Bear and Drum Spaulding projects. The two projects represent the most physically and operationally complex hydroelectric projects in the U.S., spanning thousands of acres of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Gabriel maintains close relationships with regulatory, public, academic and private researchers to give back to the industry and facilitate connections to benefit clients and projects.
