Michael Tan Joins HDR as New Jersey’s Health Principal
Michael Tan, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, has joined HDR as a health principal in the Princeton, New Jersey, architecture studio. In this position, Tan will leverage his more than 20 years of industry experience to expand and build upon HDR’s client relationships in the region.
“It’s exciting to be a part of HDR’s commitment to understanding potential and existing clients and their future challenges before clients may even know them,” Tan said. “HDR’s expertise in research, strategy, and planning creates opportunities to respond to a client’s needs from the very first step of a request for proposal to the final product.”
Before joining HDR, Tan served as a project architect and designer at FCA in the Greater Philadelphia area. He enjoys leading teams, interacting with senior leadership, and motivating design teams to create great project outcomes for clients.
“Mike brings design insight, project delivery, and client management leadership to our growing health practice in New Jersey,” said HDR East Region Director of Health Sandy Tkacz, AIA, ACHA, EDAC, NCARB. “We look forward to leveraging Mike’s healthcare design expertise as well as his energy and excitement to expand the reach he brings to our health team.”
Tan holds a Master of Architecture from Columbia University’s School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation; a Bachelor of Fine Arts in printmaking and photography from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts; and a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Tufts University.
