Keith Ferguson, P.E.
Senior Technical Advisor
Keith is a senior technical advisor in our dams and levees practice. Before this role, he served as the dams and hydraulic structures practice lead for 11 years. His expertise has provided incredible value on strategic projects across the U.S. that provide the building blocks for the future of the practice.
He provides understanding of the origins of dam safety governance and technology for embankment and concrete dams, spillways and outlet works; failure case histories that influence the standard of practice; and the importance of risk and risk assessment in dam and levee safety and new dam and levee design. He is also very passionate about quality of work, technical writing and developing communication skills of our dam and levee leaders.
Keith is a recognized leader in dam safety, risk analysis, seepage and stability analyses, seismic response evaluations for embankment and concrete dams, rock mechanics, and design of embankment, roller compacted concrete and rockfill dams.
He has been extensively involved in the dam and levee community across the U.S. and internationally throughout his entire career, serving on several committees with organizations such as the Association of State Dam Safety Officials and the United States Society on Dams. Currently, he is an active member of the USSD concrete dam, foundation and earthquake committees, the International Commission on Large Dams Seismic Aspects of Dams and Public Awareness committees.
