The Guangzhou R&F International Hospital mainly serves the residents of Guangzhou and the emerging Chinese private healthcare market. The goal behind the project is to provide patient-centered, safe, service-oriented healthcare of the highest quality, in a welcoming, healing environment. It brings the opportunity for patients to experience the benefits of a true international style hospital in the comfort of their hometown and without having to travel far from home. 

In a global partnership, UCLA Health advised on the planning, design and construction of the development of this new, Western-style hospital and health system.

The 250-bed hospital is located near the Guangzhou City center, and provides secondary and tertiary care services including intensive care complex surgical services; obstetrical and newborn care; adult and pediatric medical and surgical care including subspecialties; as well as traditional Chinese medicine services. 

The planning and details of public spaces and inclusion of amenities facilitate the lives of patient families and visitors. They have access to multiple, naturally lit, comfortable waiting areas, ample natural landscape zones for reflection and privacy, as well as an open, inviting dining area with views of the city.

The nursing home, senior housing and rehab center, although separate buildings, are well-integrated into the design of the hospital. A bridge connection to the hospital and landscaped paths allow this facility to become a unified healthcare campus.
