Paul Wörrlein, P.E.
Water Manager
Paul is the water manager for Oregon. Located in Portland, he brings 15 years of experience in water resource engineering and project management. He has worked on a variety of project types, most recently inspections and repairs of dams that are part of the City of Portland water supply system. His work experience has resulted in close working relationships with clients such as the Portland Water Bureau and Reclamation.
Paul spent much of his youth in New Mexico, where the importance of water as a limited resource was abundantly clear. This experience led him to pursue a career in civil engineering, where he cultivates great satisfaction from being part of teams that work to improve water quality and conserve and increase the reliability of water supply.
He enjoyed working with teams to deliver emergency repair projects and has successfully managed projects such as emergency dam spillway repairs, resulting in a structure that is resilient and prepared for the next wet weather season in the Pacific Northwest.
Paul chairs the American Council of Engineering Companies U.S. Army Corps of Engineers liaison committee in Oregon, has served as the planning chair for the 2011 Sustainable Stormwater Symposium, and has presented on subjects ranging from harmful algal blooms to how emergency response projects can meet challenging schedule constraints and save costs over traditional delivery projects.
