HDR Helps Prepare Eielson AFB for the F-35
Designing and constructing mission-critical facilities is always complex, but when the location of the project is the Last Frontier, it only adds to the need to work together.
In the article "Preparing Eielson for the F-35" in The Military Engineer, HDR's Erik Johnson outlined the challenges of bringing 36 buildings and more than 420,000-ft² of infrastructure to Eielson AFB in Alaska in support of the 2020 arrival of the F-35 Lightning II.
The HDR/RIM team is partnering with United States Army Corps of Engineers Alaska District and base staff to overcome weather challenges and accomplish such a large amount of work in a short period of time.
