Chris Haedt, AIA, ACHA, LEED AP BD+C, NCARB

Health Principal

Chris is the health principal in our Columbus, Ohio, architecture studio where he leads our healthcare architecture practice in Ohio in the nurturing of client relationships and the development of new projects throughout the state. Chris is an architect, a planner, a strategist, a thought leader and an educator. He has worked extensively with key clients such as OhioHealth, Norton Healthcare, and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

Striving within his work to draw from places and experiences that have created a sense of serenity and grace in himself, Chris believes the physical environment shapes how we learn, work, socialize, worship, grieve and heal. Healthcare is a challenging typology to design — a challenge that Chris welcomes. He helps clients move past what has been done and toward where they want to be and has built long-lasting relationships with his inherent openness and finely sharpened expertise.

He was named HCD10 Educator by Healthcare Design Magazine in 2024 for his dedication to fostering the growth of future generations of healthcare leaders. In 2023, Haedt received the AIA Young Architects Award for demonstrating exceptional leadership and making significant contributions to the architecture profession.

He earned his degrees from Miami University and the University of Cincinnati and is a past chair and current member of the American Institute of Architects Healthcare Subcommittee in Columbus. He is co-chair of the AIA Academy of Architecture for Health National Components Council and part of the Healthcare Facilities Symposium Advisory Board. Also, he is a guest lecturer at The Ohio State University Knowlton School of Architecture and was a mentor for Kent State University’s Master of Healthcare Architecture program.
