HDR’s Nick Brown Named to Coastal Zone Foundation Board of Directors
Nick Brown, Ph.D., coastal scientist, has been appointed to serve on the Coastal Zone Foundation Board of Directors.
Brown brings expertise in coastal geomorphology, sediment transport, ecological restoration and coastal policy. His skills include developing creative solutions for shoreline protection, wetlands restoration, coastal permitting and coastal planning.
The CZF focuses on advancing knowledge in coastal management, engineering and planning. Its mission is to promote scientific research and foster collaboration among coastal professionals, with an emphasis on sustainable coastal management. The CZF also offers the Certified Coastal Practitioner™ program, which supports the development of professionals from government, academia and private sectors through courses that enhance their expertise and impact on coastal zones.
“The CZF has a long history of advancing science and applying technical knowledge to manage and protect our coastal resources,” Brown said. “I’m looking forward to collaborating with the board to continue to advance science and education for both those interested in and already working in our field.”
