Michigan's Harbor Island Project Featured in Latest ENR Top 500 Sourcebook
Work has progressed on Michigan's Harbor Island, where HDR is leading a significant environmental remediation effort to identify the extent of coal ash and potential perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances contamination. Our team released three redevelopment concepts during a community meeting highlighting the visioning process this spring.
Available to ENR subscribers, this article featured in the 2024 ENR Top 500 Sourcebook showcases the new design concepts and provides an update on the work. Concepts feature green spaces, recreational amenities like trails, boardwalks and event areas, art installations, solar fields and natural wetlands.
The early-stage concepts "are now with the public to review and consider as we continue our work on next steps to address remediation,” said Lara Zawaideh, HDR project manager and Michigan business development leader, in the article.
