Education

Shaping the future of your community hinges on the talent, expertise and vision of the people in it.

HDR has seen it happen time and again … HDR also helps make it happen.

Scholarships, Fellowships
Through a variety of educational programs, HDR invests in your community's future by helping educate those who will design and shape the neighborhoods around you. HDR offers:

  • Scholarships to students with promising futures in the architecture-engineering industry; and fellowships to selected universities
  • An extensive internship program that gives university students many opportunities to work alongside architects, engineers, planners and other technical professionals on real-life projects
  • Support for the affirmative action programs MESA - Math, Engineering & Science Achievement; and INROADS, an international career development organization. HDR is a long-time supporter of grade school and high school MESA programs, even bringing it to the college level in one city, and is a founder of INROADS in Omaha, Nebraska.

A Continuing Commitment
When employees join HDR, their education is continuing. The company's Training & Organizational Development (T&OD) program leads an extensive array of educational, training and professional development programs designed to enhance and expand the skills of HDR employees. T&OD coordinates:

  • Continuing education
  • Career planning and training
  • A well-developed mentoring program
  • A generous tuition assistance program

Helping Your Children
As participants in your community, HDR employees take to heart a commitment to educating children by volunteering to participate in activities such as science fairs, design competitions, scout programs and speaking engagements with students of all ages. HDR employees are very active in Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) mentoring programs that help familiarize students with the architecture-engineering profession.

At HDR, education is an ongoing experience designed with your community in mind.
