Health & Safety

The well-being of a community can hinge on many factors – health and safety are two of the most important.

That's why HDR has become a leader among architecture-engineering firms in developing a Health & Safety Program that ultimately helps protect your community. HDR's headquarters engineering office is the first A/E firm to gain entry into the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) prestigious Voluntary Protection Program, signifying that the company meets a stringent set of OSHA safety requirements.

Safety Services

HDR's award-winning safety program also offers professionally trained resources to assist clients with a variety of health and safety needs. HDR can provide:

  • A certified industrial hygienist
  • A certified safety professional
  • OSHA experience
  • Expert witness testimony in health and safety litigation

A Special Commitment

The HDR Health & Safety Program reaches HDR offices nationwide, delivering safety training, working with regulatory agencies on health and safety issues critical to the architecture and engineering industry, and guiding safety program implementation around the country. Each HDR office also makes a special commitment to safety, assigning safety coordinators to lead committees that address a variety of health and safety issues.

HDR's comprehensive safety and health programs have been recognized at the national and local level as the firm goes above legal requirements to actively manage health and safety programs.  HDR’s Safety staff are responsible for ensuring that the program meets all applicable international, national, state and local regulatory standards, as well as those of HDR clients. Office safety coordinators (OSCs) lead, implement and monitor local health and safety programs, chair safety committees and report on health and safety-related issues. All HDR employees are required to participate in selected safety training courses.
