HDR Receives Three SWANA Awards, Makes Presentations at WASTECON 2009

(OMAHA, Neb. - September 22, 2009) - HDR will have a major presence at WASTECON 2009, the annual conference sponsored by the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), held in Long Beach, Calif., from Sept. 22-24. HDR will receive three SWANA awards for company projects and nine HDR professionals will make technical presentations.

The awards include a Gold Award for Landfill Management at the Perdido Landfill in Escambia County, Fla.; a Gold Award for Waste-to-Energy for the Lee County, Fla., waste-to-energy facility; and a Bronze Award for Transfer Station at Montgomery County, Ohio.

HDR is also the official carbon sponsor for WASTECON and will make a presentation on how conference planners worked with greenhouse gas specialists from HDR to calculate the carbon footprint of the WASTECON conference and to plan for the purchase of emissions offset credits.
